Emma's Biography

Emma Kate Lahana was born in Auckland, New Zealand on June 27,
1984 to Lesley and Colin Lahana. As a young girl Emma loved music
and dancing. Her first memories are of attempting to imitate
performers she saw on television, from Michael Jackson to Judy
Garland. She began ballet lessons when she was only 3 years old. At
the age of 5 the family travelled to a number of different Pacific
Islands for her father's work, but despite this she managed to keep
up her dancing lessons. Six years later they returned to Auckland
where Emma resided until 2004.
Emma has explored many other art forms, including violin, acting,
musical theater and dance. She spent a year on New Zealand's most
popular TV Soap. She also performed in numerous roles for Artist
International, North Shore Operatic Society, Howick Operatic Society
and sung at the Miss World, New Zealand Beauty Pagant.

In 2002 she performed the role of Fiona in the Disney Channel original
movie "You Wish!" and had a part in a New Zealand TV drama series.
In her spare time Emma likes to hang out with her friends, sing and go
to Church.

In summer 2003, Emma landed the role of "independent musician"
Kira Ford on Power Rangers DinoThunder. She had a great time
playing the character and got to explore her musical talents.

Emma now lives New York (and Los Angeles part of the time) as she
works on her debut album. She also returned to New Zealand in march to film the DinoThunder/SPD teamup to air later this year.

Did You Know ....

* Emma owns a Red New Zealand car and plans to buy a silver one in the states.

* She really didn't enjoy school and would write fake notes to get out of PE class.

* Although she shares simularities with Kira, Emma wasn't too fond of
her hair on the show and would never wear as much eye-makeup in real life.

* Emma hates Pepsi.

* Her favorite band is The Beatles and she praises Steven Tyler (of Aerosmith).

* Musical inspirations include: The Beatles, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Police, James
Taylor, Bonnie Rait, Dave Matthews Band, Eva Cassidy, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Clegg, Jason
Mraz, Maroon 5, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

* Emma owns (or did own, whatever the case) a Les Paul guitar and a Fender Strat
(once belonging to a guitarist from The Ventures). Her autographed Ashton Acoustic
guitar sold on eBay for $815.

* Growing up, she had a crush on Bob Saget (from Full House) and still enjoys those
those "aaaw factor" moments.

* Emma loves the Guitar Center in L.A. and her ugg boots.

* While in New York, she enjoys shopping at the Whole Foods Market store
